Looking forward in 2023

It almost St. Patrick's Day. By now most of you are already done decluttering your homes, finished with Easter DIY's, or are onto new goals for 2023.

Not me. I'm starting the year off a bit slower than most. You see, we had a HUGE year of growth last year, not only in our product offerings, but also in our followers and that we are so thankful for! The downside of that, is it took a toll on me physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

Let me explain. I Love, ❤️, love being crafty. I love making things and painting. But I was not able to keep up and spent a lot of time (although in my own home) away from my family, not taking care of my health, and not taking the time to replenish my spiritual cup.

So it was to no surprise that for over almost a month my body failed and was extremely sick. I slept most days, got up and went to bed. My Autoimmune system could not fight off whatever I had. My body just needed rest. Which meant I did not get to review 2022 or plan for 2023 the way I had hoped for. Let's just say we are a little behind, okay a lot behind. And almost 3 months later, I am just starting to see above water.

And it's okay, because it is what my family and I needed to happen. First, we needed my health to be better. Then we also needed and will continue to need family time. Which leads us to 2023.

We are looking forward to this year, knowing we cannot grow like we did last year. We know we have to have better balance for me and for you all. This way we can grow towards my business goals and also have time for family and fun.

So, what does that mean for Beyond the Design in 2023? We are still going to offer finished goods, DIY kits, mobile parties, workshops, and DIY videos.

What is changing? I'm so glad you asked! There will be more DIY videos, more emails, more blog posts on our website, more Instagram, more tutorials on our products, and more products being offered - perhaps at a much slower pace.

This does mean we have to do less Vendor events this year. We have decided (when I say we I mean my family and I) that it is best for us if we put our focus on only a few vendor events towards the second half of the year - September thru November. But we are hoping to have a few more "pop up" events either at local farmers markets or at our home studio here in Pewaukee.

So as I get back to prepping for St. Patrick's Day with my kiddos (we still have a tree to decorate YIKES!!), I am extremely grateful for all 2022 offered us, but looking ahead to 2023 and hoping it will be even better. If you all would just offer us a little grace as we get back to it a little slower than we did last year, my family and I would greatly appreciate it.
